CS Kuria Scolds DP Gachagua for Micromanaging Karua
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria on Thursday criticized Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for his alleged attempts to interfere with the planned Mt Kenya caucus known as Limuru III.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, the CS expressed his displeasure with the deputy president’s efforts to persuade Martha Karua and Jeremiah Kioni to change their stance on the Limuru III meeting.
Gachagua allegedly invited Karua and Kioni to his Karen residence in Nairobi to address their concerns.
However, this move did not sit well with CS Kuria, who rejected Gachagua’s initiative to meet with the two Azimio politicians.
“He is my boss, but I don’t agree with him because we were elected by the people to solve their issues,” CS Kuria commented on Gachagua’s approach to Karua and Kioni.
Jeremiah Kioni and Martha Karua are said to be among the leaders organizing the Limuru III meeting along with other prominent Mt Kenya politicians.

According to CS Kuria, it was inappropriate for the deputy president to convene a meeting with the two leaders at his residence.
Kuria defended his position, urging Gachagua to meet the two leaders at their residences instead, claiming the deputy president did not have the authority to address Karua and Kioni in that manner.
“Solutions for this country have no forwarding address. If you have a problem, you don’t go to a specific person. This country has many problems. Who are you?” Kuria questioned as he rebuked the DP.
“If Martha Karua or Jeremiah Kioni invited me to their house, I would go. They don’t have to come to me,” he added.
When asked why he changed his stance on attending the Limuru III meeting, the CS accused the Jubilee secretary-general of undermining his efforts to participate in the important meeting.
“I had planned to give a talk only to wake up yesterday and hear Kioni speaking everywhere, attacking me, saying that I am not invited and am inviting myself. I thought this was a community meeting,” CS Kuria stated.
“I was part of Limuru I, I was one of the organizers for Limuru II, and I don’t see anything wrong with Limuru III.”
