CS Kuria opens up about his relationship with Gachagua
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has rejected any suggestions of a disagreement between himself and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
During an interview with KTN, Kuria expressed that their extensive history with the Deputy President prevents them from engaging in any conflict or hostilities.
“There can be no distinction there. I think people are reading too much. I am not under attack from anyone. The Deputy President and I have come from a long way,” he said on Monday.
Describing his association with DO Gachagua, Kuria mentioned that he previously supported Gachagua during a campaign in Nyeri when they were both affiliated with the Jubilee Party.
At that time, Gachgaua aimed to secure a position in parliament representing Mathira Constituency, while Kuria was pursuing reelection for the Gaturndu South seat in Kiambu.
Following the 2017 general elections, CS Kuria mentioned that there was a period during his time at the National Assembly when he held a position of authority over Gachagua.
“When he (Gachagua) was elected he found me in my second term in Parliament and at one point I was his boss. That was when I was the Vice-chair of the Transport Committee at the National Assembly where he served as one of my members,” the CS explained.

Reflecting on the past, Kuria mentioned collaborating with DP Gachagua in their campaign efforts, putting in substantial effort, all while asserting that they experienced significant hardships under the previous administration.
Unveiling another shared aspect between himself and the Deputy President, CS Kuria highlighted that they both share a commitment to serving the interests of the people of Mt Kenya and the Kenya Kwanza administration.
“The Deputy President has got the interests of the people of Mt Kenya at heart and so do I,” he said.
“I also have the interest of the Kenya Kwanza government at heart there can be a distinction neither at the national government level nor the regional level and that cannot be an argument,” Kuria added.
The CS recently affirmed that Gachagua is indeed a close friend of his, which opposes the assertions made by critics.
Kuria expressed that Gachagua has excellently fulfilled his duties as a deputy, and they share a good rapport.
“The deputy president, who is also my boss is my good friend and we get along so well, our cabinet is so efficient because of him,” he said.
“Credits to Riggy G.”
