CS Kuria dismisses reports of fallout with Mudavadi over office spaces

Moses Kuria, Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management, has denied media allegations that he is in a dispute with Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi over office space.

Sunday on X, Kuria referred to Mudavadi as a close friend.

“Contrary to media reports today, there is no tug of war between myself and my senior and close friend Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi. The PCS will continue operating from Railways Headquarters and myself from Harambee House,” Kuria said.

Kuria stated that the Prime Cabinet Secretary, who is also the Foreign Affairs CS, will continue to operate from Railways Headquarters.

Kuria stated that his office is located at Harambee House.

“Principal Secretary for Performance and Delivery Management Veronicah Nduva will also be based at Harambee House,” the CS said.

According to Executive Order Number 1 of 2023, PS Nduva will supervise Government Delivery Services, Performance Contracting, the State Corporations Advisory Committee, and the Inspectorate of State Corporations from the Harambee House office.

On Friday, Head of the Public Service Felix Koskei made adjustments to the tangible addresses of government ministries and agencies.

“We refer to the above subject matter and to the notification of Presidential Action of October 4, 2023. Following the Presidential Action on the Reorganization of the Government of Kenya, we hereby notify you that the physical addresses for Ministries and State Departments (Ministerial Head Office) have been designated,” Koskei said in a statement.

Koskei stated that the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary and the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs have been assigned to the Old Treasury Building on Harambee Avenue.

The Prime CS stated in a Facebook post, however, that his office will remain at the Railways Headquarters.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs remains at the Railways Headquarters,” Mudavadi said.

According to Koskei, Kuria was given an office at the Kenya Railways Headquarters off of Haile Selassie Avenue.

While serving as Trade CS, Kuria previously resided at the Two Rivers retail mall in Ruaka.

Some institutions, including the Attorney General’s Office, Interior, National Treasury and Economic Planning, Defence, Roads and Transport, and Lands, maintained their locations.
