Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kithure Kindiki disclosed on Monday, May 1, that the government has narrowed its investigation of the Shakahola massacre to a more manageable scope.

The CS announced to the press the formation of a commission of inquiry to expedite the investigations.

Missing organs from the victims and whether police officers or public officials assisted Pastor Paul Mackenzie’s murderous cult are among the areas of investigation.

If any of our citizens are missing organs, we will inform the world. We have nothing to conceal.

“We will determine why the organs are missing, who took them, and where they went,” the CS revealed.

The C.S. explained further that the transfer of security officers from Kilifi County was part of his ministry’s plan to determine who assisted Mackenzie in committing the heinous crimes.

He maintained that the investigation would spare no leader.

“It is an administrative measure to ensure that no one who was in office before the commission of the crime is present.

“We will ascend the hierarchy, and if we find anyone else who should have taken action but didn’t, we will ask them to step aside,” he warned.

In his speech, the minister of the interior assured Kenyans that the Commission of Inquiry will leave no stone unturned.

Kindiki reassured Kenyans, “In addition to determining how these circumstances arose, the commission will investigate, inquire, and recommend disciplinary action against any public official who assisted Mackenzie.”

Kindiki also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the Shakahola massacre.

“Nothing of this nature will ever occur again in our nation. He vowed that such heinous crimes would never occur on American soil again.

President William Ruto announced on April 30. That the government would establish a task force to investigate Mackenzie’s cult. Which was responsible for the deaths of over 109 of his followers.

“I will consult with all religious leaders in the country to form a task force to root out those who wish to abuse religion or conduct anti-religious business in Kenya,” the president pledged.
