CS Duale Strongly Condemns Raila’s Reckless Secession Advocacy: “An Irresponsible Move!”
Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has poured cold water on the call for secession by opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Friday in Yatta, Machakos County, CS Duale reprimanded Mr. Odinga and his fellow Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka for remarks they made during a meeting.
The leaders of Azimio have stated that they will advocate for the partition of the country. And the establishment of two separate governments.
Saturday, during the inauguration of the Masalani municipality in Garissa County. The Cabinet Secretary referred to these statements as reckless and idle chatter.
“I wish to inform Raila and Kalonzo that you both ran for president of the Republic of Kenya; it is extremely irresponsible for leaders of your stature to stand on a podium and call for the secession and division of our country. “I had no idea you could sink to such a low level,” Duale said.

He went on to claim that the mock inauguration of Mr. Odinga as the ‘People’s President’ following the 2017 elections. Was another attempt to divide the country.
Duale then criticized former President Uhuru Kenyatta for falling for Mr. Odinga’s scheme at the time by entering into the ‘handshake’ agreement with him.
The Defence Secretary warned the former prime minister of dire consequences if he attempts to destabilize the government of President William Ruto in the same manner.
He asserted that the opposition leader has made a habit of blackmailing the current administration to gain entry through the back door.
“Kwa sababu hivi ndio alisema in 2017 alipojiapisha…Uhuru naye alishtuka akampea handshake,” he said.
“Alisema mambo ya unga, ya IEBC servers, mara anataka hii, mara ile… sasa ameona imekuwa ngumu kwa sababu mimi na William Ruto tunamjua sana.”
Duale urged the opposition’s leader to respect the Constitution. Noting that the Kenya Kwanza government will not be intimidated by the opposition’s persistent demands.
“Sasa anafikiri anaweza kututisha ya kwamba ati Kenya igawanywe…Please, Mr. Odinga, return to the Constitution’s preamble,” he urged.
