Citizen TV Poaches 2 Popular Anchors From KTN
Royal Media Services (RMS) has hired two news presenters who formerly worked at KTN News.
A media house’s internal memo disclosed that Jimmy Mbogo and Jasmine Wambui are set to join the company’s team.
As per the memo, both individuals are set to become part of the business desk at Citizen TV. Nonetheless, the specific date for their on-air debut was not disclosed.
“Team, please extend a warm welcome to Jasmine Wambui and Jimmy Mbogo. They’ve joined the business desk and will be instrumental in supporting us across TV, radio, Web, and digital platforms,” reads part of the memo.
This occurred just one week after Mbogo resigned from his position at KTN. The business reporter and news anchor expressed in a sincere goodbye message to his supporters that his time at the media company had been a rewarding and satisfying year.
He expressed gratitude to his coworkers and friends for their continuous support over the past year, as well as to his supervisors who granted him the opportunity to share narratives within one of Kenya’s major media organizations.

“I look back with great joy and pride for what we achieved,” he stated.
In addition to his time at KTN, he has gained experience at K24, Kenyan Wallstreet, and Nation Media Group, among various other media organizations.
In the meantime, Wambui, a business anchor and reporter, has spent two years and two months with KTN. During her time there, she also served as a multimedia journalist for one year.
Before her tenure at Standard Media Group, she worked as a journalist for Citizen TV, where she specialized in reporting and covering Viusasa News segments.
After obtaining her Communication and Media Studies degree from Daystar University, Wambui became a news anchor at Shine FM, also affiliated with the university.
Currently, she is taking a course in Financial Markets from Yale University.
“A financial journalist with a specialty in energy reporting, passionate in matters electricity and fuel,” she states on her LinkedIn profile.
