CCTV Footage Reveals Ruiru Man Dumping Girlfriend’s Body After Murder
CCTV footage obtained by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) shows how a man from Ruiru dumped the body of his lover after allegedly killing her during a domestic dispute.
On April 18, 2023, the remains of Ryspa Ndunge were discovered in a suitcase outside a rental building in the Gatongora neighborhood of Ruiru, Kiambu County.
The deceased’s boyfriend, Morris Njuguna (28), allegedly murdered her on April 17. And disposed of her body, according to the police.
Ndunge was a cashier at a popular nyama choma restaurant in Kamakis. While Njuguna was a chef at the same establishment.
According to the police, due to the nature of their jobs, Njuguna would arrive home much earlier than his lover. Who is said to have routinely returned home in the wee hours of the morning after her shifts.
“This did not sit well with Morris, who suspected that the time was not spent balancing the day’s sales as claimed. But rather on other suspicious activities,” the DCI said in a statement.
After she arrived after 3 a.m. on April 17, 2023, the argument escalated into a fight that ultimately resulted in the decedent’s death.

Despite having murdered his lover, Njuguna allegedly reported to work the next day as usual. And claimed that Ndunge had decided to quit her job.
Despite moving in together only five months before the incident, Njuguna claimed that he and Ndunge would move to a new house. The location of which he did not disclose to his colleagues.
Njuguna reportedly purchased a sack from a local kiosk on his way home from work. Intending to use it to dispose of the victim’s body.
The DCI stated, “He placed the deceased’s body in a suitcase before covering it with the sack.”
“The suspect then carried the lifeless body disguised as luggage for one kilometer. Before dumping it outside the entrance to a rental building and fleeing.”
At 9:35 p.m., surveillance footage from the rental building captured Njuguna dumping the deceased’s body.
The landlord of the rental building contacted officers at the Gatongora Police Station after discovering the body.
On April 21, 2023, detectives apprehended Njuguna and subsequently recorded his and the witnesses’ statements.
Francis Chege (32), his cousin, was also apprehended by detectives in Mukuyu, Murang’a County.After GPS linked him to the victim’s phone, which he claimed Njuguna had given him.
“The main suspect also led detectives to the store where he had purchased the sack used to conceal the suitcase carrying the deceased’s body,” said the DCI.
Njuguna continues to be detained pending his arraignment, where he will be charged with murder.
