Can’t Resign, Won’t Resign- Public Service CS Justin Muturi Denies Fake Resignation Letter
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has dismissed a letter circulating online that claims he has resigned from President William Ruto’s Cabinet.
In a statement issued on Thursday, March 13, Muturi clarified that the resignation letter was fake and not written by him. He urged Kenyans to ignore the misleading document, which surfaced after his interview on Citizen TV.
Muturi Denies Resignation Claims
Muturi emphasized that he remains committed to his role as Public Service CS and warned against misinformation.
“It has come to my attention that a fraudulent letter is circulating, falsely claiming that I have resigned as the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development. I categorically state that this letter is fake and should be disregarded,” his statement read in part.
He reassured Kenyans of his dedication to strengthening public service and human capital development.
Muturiโs Stand on Abductions
In recent months, Muturi has criticized the government over the rising cases of abductions. Citing his personal experience with his son’s abduction, he has urged President Ruto to form a commission to investigate these incidents.
Muturi has also been notably absent from Cabinet meetings, stating that he will only attend if abductions and extrajudicial killings are formally addressed.
โIn my case, I have written and sought to be excused from Cabinet meetings unless the agenda of abductions and extrajudicial killings is formally tabled before Cabinet,โ he said during his Citizen TV interview.
Conclusion
Muturi has assured Kenyans that he remains in office and continues to serve diligently. He has called on the public to be cautious of false information meant to mislead and cause unnecessary panic.
