BLOODBATH IN HAITI: Cops Unleash Hell on Ruthless Gangs Days After Kenyan Officer is Killed

Several gang members lost their lives during a major police raid in Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince. The operation, carried out by the Haitian National Police (PNH), took place in Delmas 6, an area controlled by the infamous gang leader Jimmy “Barbecue” Chรฉrizier. This raid happened just days after a Kenyan officer was killed in a separate incident.

Haiti’s Prime Minister, Alix Didier Fils-Aimรฉ, shared news of the raid on social media. He stated that the government and the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) had launched a Task Force, and in under 48 hours, it had already achieved significant results. He confirmed that multiple gang members had been eliminated as security forces worked to restore order in the troubled Bas-Delmas region. Authorities had declared a state of alert and were fully mobilized.

Reports from credible news sources, including the BBC, suggest that Jimmy “Barbecue” Chรฉrizier may have been among those affected in the clash. Chรฉrizier, a former police officer, leads the G9 Family and Allies gang, which has been linked to various crimes such as kidnappings and extortion.

Emmanuel Vertilaire, a CPT official overseeing justice and public security, explained that the operation was carefully planned and aimed at stopping criminal groups from gaining more control.

It is still unclear if Kenyan police officers, deployed to Haiti last year, were involved in this raid. Their presence in the country has been notable, especially after one of their own was killed during an operation in the Artibonite region. The injured officer was reportedly hurt in a mission at Pont Sonde and was receiving medical care.

Since February 2024, Port-au-Prince has been experiencing increased violence due to ongoing conflicts between law enforcement and gangs. The situation has caused essential services, including healthcare, to break down. A severe food crisis has also emerged as a result of the unrest.

By March 2025, gang-related violence had claimed at least 5,500 lives in Haiti. In addition, over a million people have been displaced, forced to leave their homes due to the unsafe conditions.
