Blaze Horror: Ukrainian Refugee Hotel Engulfed in Flames

Last night, a fire ripped through a 400-year-old hotel that reportedly housed Ukrainian refugees.

Thursday at approximately 1:00 a.m., a devastating fire broke out in Midhurst, West Sussex.

According to witnesses, it began on North Street before spreading to the roof of the adjacent Angel Inn.

Hilton Holloway, who witnessed the fire gaining control, reported that approximately thirty people, including some children, were evacuated from the hotel.

“The hotel, which had approximately 15 rooms, housed several Ukrainian refugees,” he explained. “I spoke with a young woman who appeared to be relatively composed.”

Mr. Holloway, who lives opposite the hotel, captured images and video of the fire spreading from an adjacent structure to the Angel Inn’s roof.

According to West Sussex Fire and Rescue Services, the fire was “significant.”

The incident was responded to by ten fire engines, an aerial ladder platform, a water carrier, and an off-road vehicle.

More than thirty people have been evacuated from the building, and firefighters are working tirelessly to bring the blaze under control, according to the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Services.

Area Manager Richard Abbot announced from the scene that North Street would remain closed and urged the public to avoid the area.

“It is too soon to determine the cause of the fire, but we will investigate as soon as it is safe to do so,” he stated.

The Sussex Police, which dispatched officers to the scene, informed the community that roads would be closed.

There have been no casualties reported.
