Aristocrat and Lover Arrested After 54 Days, Baby Still Missing

Constance Marten and her boyfriend Mark Gordon have been arrested, but the search for their child continues.

The couple was discovered last night in Brighton following a tip from a member of the public.

They were discovered on a residential street shortly before 9:30 p.m., and a desperate search continues in the region.

This morning, officers were seen searching under cars and behind trash cans for the couple’s newborn.

On January 5, Miss Marten and Mr. Gordon were reported missing after their vehicle broke down near Bolton, Greater Manchester.

The pair abandoned their burning vehicle, prompting a nationwide search for them.

After being spotted purchasing camping equipment from an East London Argos on January 7, they are believed to have lived on the streets and traveled the country using taxis.

As temperatures fell across the nation, concern grew for the 35-year-old missing aristocrat and her infant.

The couple was last seen with their child on January 9 in Newhaven, East Sussex, before their discovery.

CCTV footage captured the masked couple discarding their child’s stroller in the port city.

Police had previously stated that the new mother had given birth in her vehicle days before their flight.

The baby’s condition remains unknown.

In the days following their disappearance, it was discovered that Miss Marten had ties to the Royal Family and that Gordon is a convicted rapist.

The 48-year-old served 20 years in a U.S. prison for rape and battery before his 2010 deportation to the United Kingdom.

Before she met Gordon in 2016, Miss Marten, who is estranged from her wealthy family, was a promising drama student.

It is believed that the couple lived an isolated existence in rented properties.

In January, detectives offered a £10,000 reward for information leading to the location of the couple.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated, “A member of the public reported seeing Constance Marten and Mark Gordon in Stanmer Villas, Brighton, shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Monday.”

“Officers from the Sussex Police Department responded to the scene and arrested the pair. They remain detained.

The infant is still missing, and a search operation is currently underway.

Anyone with information that could aid the search is requested to dial 999.
