Amos Kimunya Wife Dies at Nairobi Hospital
Former Kipipiri Member of Parliament Amos Kimunya on Tuesday, January 30, announced the passing on of his wife Lucy Kimunya.
In a statement, the former parliamentarian stated that the wife died while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.
He, however, did not divulge further details including her ailment and the period she was hospitalised.
“It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that I wish to announce that this Tuesday at 3:00 am my dear wife Lucy went to be with the Lord while receiving care at Nairobi Hospital,” the MP stated.
Kimunya eulogised the wife for having played a key part in both her personal and political life. Lucy, he added, was involved in various initiatives with a passion for supporting youth and women.
“Go well our dear Lucy, we will miss you dearly,” her husband stated.

Kimunya explained that further details on her sendoff would be communicated in due course.
The former Kipipiri MP has served under Presidents Mwai Kibaki and Uhuru Kenyatta occupying various positions both in Cabinet and Parliament.
He was appointed Minister of Lands in 2002 before moving to the Finance docket in 2006 following the resignation of David Mwiraria.
Kimunya resigned from Cabinet in July 2008 only to be reappointed by Mwai Kibaki to the Trade docket five months later.
Under Uhuru Kenyatta, Kimunya served as National Assembly Majority Leader following the ouster of Aden Duale who is now the current Cabinet Secretary of Defence.
Kimunya has always credited his decorated career to the support he received from his departed wife.
