Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi Dismisses Abduction Reports as ‘Baseless Propaganda’
Alego Usonga Member of Parliament, Samuel Atandi, has refuted recent claims of widespread abductions, dismissing most as unfounded and politically motivated.
What Did Samuel Atandi Say About Abductions?
Speaking on Friday, December 27, Atandi acknowledged that while isolated genuine cases might exist, the majority of abduction allegations circulating are fabricated to discredit the government.
“I’ve been analyzing these reports and found that many are pure propaganda,” he said, emphasizing that the narratives are part of a political strategy aimed at creating confusion and instability.
The MP cautioned critics to approach the issue responsibly, highlighting that many reports are exaggerated or completely false, designed to weaken the government’s image.
“These stories are not real. They are spread to cause chaos and undermine the government,” he added.

Why ODM Partnered with Ruto’s Government
Addressing the political climate, Atandi explained the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party’s decision to join the government. He stressed that the move was to ensure national stability and prevent chaos.
“We joined the government to avoid its collapse. Political turmoil has led to chaos in many countries. Our role is to maintain order, enabling progress and the respect of the rule of law,” Atandi said.
The MP also advised government critics to seek change through lawful means, including elections, rather than resorting to protests or property destruction.
“If you want to change the leadership, wait for the elections. Mobilize your supporters, cast your votes, and follow legal procedures to assume power,” he urged.
Community Development Efforts in Siaya County
Atandi spoke during a community outreach event in Alego Usonga, Siaya County, where he partnered with Attorney General Dorcas Oduor to facilitate free registration of government services for residents. The event also featured Interior Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo and other local leaders.
