Ababu Namwamba Addresses Viral Video Where Woman Used His Name While Harassing Hospital Staff
Ababu Namwamba, the Cabinet Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs, has responded to a widely circulated video in which a woman mentioned his name during a confrontation with hospital personnel.
In a video with no specified date, reportedly filmed at Port Victoria Hospital in Busia County, an unnamed man and woman were observed confronting hospital employees, alleging neglect in their care for a patient.
Amid the melee, the woman, who caused havoc by throwing files on the floor and hitting a table, was heard telling the nurse that she would call one “Ababu.”
“I have a right, let me call Ababu, this is how you kill people here, we have a patient in the emergency she cannot breathe,” she stated as she threw objects at the hospital staff and littered the floor.
Following the video’s widespread circulation on Wednesday, there has been a connection established between the events depicted and CS Ababu Namwamba, who originates from Busia County.
Earlier today, the CS took to social media to respond to the ongoing public conversations about his identity.

“The actions associated with me do not align with my values or commitment to public service. I unequivocally condemn any behavior against principles of integrity. I am thoroughly investigating these allegations and will take decisive actions to rectify any wrongdoing,” Namwamba wrote.
The CS further affirmed his dedication to “rebuilding trust through transparency and corrective measures.”
The legislation sparked widespread public outrage and disapproval, prompting KMPDU Secretary General Davji Atellah to advocate for legal measures to be taken.
“This is rudimentary, illegal, and immoral. The attitude and actions of politicians and their cronies to threaten healthcare workers at their place of work should be curtailed. The safety of healthcare workers is threatened in such facilities. The perpetrators of this heinous act should be brought to book urgently,” Atellah stated.
