Ruto Troops Respond to Raila’s Warning on US Ambassador
Governors aligned with President William Ruto criticized former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for publicly criticizing US Ambassador Meg Whitman at the ongoing Devolution Conference in Uasin Gishu.
Minutes after Raila’s speech on Thursday, a group of leaders led by Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika urged the ODM leader to take a break and refrain from criticizing the December 2021-appointed ambassador to Kenya.
Kihika characterized Raila’s remarks as regrettable and stated that Whitman was one of the most diligent diplomats in the nation.
Therefore, Ruto’s team pledged to defend Whitman against the opposition’s threats to recall her from Kenya.
She represents and speaks more positively and patriotically about Kenya than many Kenyans. “Perhaps it is also time for us to tell him (Raila) to shut up,” stated Kihika, an outspoken critic of the opposition.
The administrators, on the other hand, accused the leader of Azimio of inciting them against the national government led by Ruto.

The county administrators asserted that the opposition leader used the devolution conference to undermine several partnership programs between the two levels of government.
“We have worked well with the National Government for the past decade. He is attempting to instigate opposition to the national government’s distribution of cheap fertilizer, which currently costs Ksh2,500 per kilogram. “Does he wish Kenya well?” she pondered.
The governor’s statement came mere minutes after Raila accused Whitman of interfering in the country’s affairs and asked her to shut up.
Raila characterized Whitman as a rebellious ambassador who needed to be brought under control, and he threatened to seek her expulsion from Kenya.
In contrast to Raila’s viewpoint, Whitman described the 2022 General Election as one of the most equitable and transparent in the country’s history.
“The renegade Ambassador must be informed that Kenya is not a United States colony. “She must respect Kenyans or remain silent,” warned the opposition leader.
