    The biggest sin I’m committing on earth is eating – Mackenzie

    The controversial pastor Paul Mackenzie recently stated that the gravest sin he does on earth is simply taking in food to put in his body.

    The was able to view a video in which Mackenzie candidly made the statement while seated in court alongside his other co-defendants. 

    It is said here that Dhambi kubwa ninayoifanya duniani hivi leo mimi, ni kula. When I asked him about it, he said, “Lakini siku nitakapo okoka kutoka dhambi iyo ya kula, nitaishi na yesu milele.”

    This can be translated as “the worst thing I’m doing right now on earth is eating.” And the day that I will be saved from the sin of eating, I shall live with Jesus forever,” he stated.

    Between June 6 and June 10, Mackenzie and his supporters participated in a hunger strike, claiming that they were being abused while they were being held in detention.

    They were, nevertheless, brought before the court and charged with attempting suicide because they refused to consume food.

    One of the suspects ultimately succumbed to illness and malnutrition as a result of the strike, which led to his death.

    Both the controversial pastor and his co-defendant have been held in custody for more than ninety days at this point.

    Mackenzie and his 27 associates were arrested for an additional 47 days beginning on August 2 and were jailed just last week.

    The controversial religious leader was taken into custody for the very first time on April 15, and he remained there for 117 days before being formally charged with anything.

    They are being held accountable for the deaths of over 425 persons whose bodies have been excavated from Shakahola, and it is believed that they were involved in those deaths.

    The State believes that it is in everyone’s best interest to devote more time and resources to conducting compelling investigations and to do everything in one’s power to move the hearing and the resolution of the case along as quickly as possible.
