Tuesday’s Lamu Attack: 60 Terrorists Eliminated, Kindiki Reports

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has announced that all 60 terrorists involved in the recent attack that took place in Lamu on Tuesday have been eliminated.

The security forces successfully neutralized the 60 attackers as part of a decisive operation that concluded earlier today.

In a statement made on Tuesday, Kindiki informed members of parliament that every individual responsible for the assault on their citizens the previous day has been rendered inactive.

The assailants, believed to be affiliated with the al Shabaab extremist group, had targeted four buses which were transporting over 200 passengers at the crossroads of Lamu and Tana River counties.

The operation’s success can be attributed to the diligent efforts of elite security personnel who have been conducting regular patrols along the Lamu/Garsen road.

Despite the considerable number of attackers, security forces managed to neutralize the entire group, a feat that underscores their commitment to maintaining peace and safeguarding the populace.

Kindiki’s remarks were made during his appearance before the National Assembly Education committee on Wednesday.

The discussion centered around enhancing the security of non-local educators in Northern Kenya, reflecting the government’s dedication to ensuring the safety of all residents, regardless of their origin.

In conclusion, the Interior Cabinet Secretary’s announcement highlighted the successful conclusion of the operation against the 60 terrorists responsible for the Lamu attack.

The operation’s effectiveness was a result of consistent efforts by specialized security units patrolling the region.

This accomplishment reinforces the government’s commitment to addressing security concerns and was discussed as part of broader efforts to enhance safety in various sectors, as demonstrated by Kindiki’s engagement with the National Assembly Education committee.
