President Ruto Furious: Demands CSs Kuria & Kindiki’s Late Arrival Explanation
Tuesday, President William Ruto lectured his senior government officials for signing performance contracts late.
President Ruto demanded a written explanation from senior Cabinet members who failed to keep time and arrived late, expressing his anger at their tardiness.
GossipA2Z has determined that Interior CS Kithure Kindiki and Trade CS Moses Kuria were the only Cabinet Secretaries who did not participate in the signature of performance contracts at the live-streamed event.
He lectured the executive members that he cannot tolerate trivial mistakes from leaders who have been entrusted with a massive responsibility to serve Kenyans, and so they must conduct themselves with integrity.
“I don’t know if it’s because performance contracts have been in place for 20 years, but many people may have the misconception that it’s a ritual, which is why people resort to the same incompetent excuses that traffic prevented them from performing the most important public duty,” he said.

“We have a job because we have a contract, and if you cannot keep time with your employer, you have essentially fired yourself,” he continued.
“For those who arrived late and are members of the Executive, I will be expecting a written explanation that does not include traffic issues as to why they did not take these performance contracts seriously, because if you don’t take them seriously, it means that we don’t take the performance contract with the people of Kenya seriously, which is a very serious accusation against anyone.”
Ruto emphasized that he takes matters related to service delivery seriously and that anyone who treats national affairs with indifference will face severe criticism.
Government performance contracting is now in its twentieth year of continuous implementation. It is a tool for measuring the efficacy of Kenyan government ministries and agencies in their service to Kenyans.
