Exclusive: Azimio Unveils Wednesday Vigil Exercise Plan
The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party has urged Kenyans to begin the Wednesday vigil at 6:00 a.m.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Azimio urged participants in the memorial service to light candles, arrange flowers, sing the National Anthem, and engage in prayer.
In remembrance of those who lost their lives during the anti-government demonstrations, this will be done in that order.
“We request that, upon lighting the candles and laying the wreaths, groups organize themselves, sing the national anthem, and say prayers for justice on behalf of the deceased and the injured,” the statement read.
Kenyans are instructed to place flowers at local landmarks and light candles in remembrance.
“That the exercise begins at 6 a.m. with the lighting of candles and the laying of flowers – any flowers – at convenient convergence points, including hospitals, parks, bus stages, churches, markets, shopping centers, social halls, and county assemblies and county headquarters,” the statement read.
In preparation for tomorrow, it also exhorted the supporters to volunteer and acquire the flowers and candles on Tuesday.

The Coalition requested that Wednesday’s processions be directed by the society’s leaders.
These include political, religious, civil society, Community-Based Organizations (CBO), and youth and women group leaders.
Others are leaders in academia and the labor movement.
“Lead and direct citizens in these solemn and solemn acts of remembrance, solidarity, and love,” the document stated.
Azimio added that leaders in Nairobi will gather at a previously announced location to pray, lay flowers, light candles, and inaugurate the aid fund.
Earlier, the leader of the opposition, Raila Odinga, stated that he would establish a fund to assist the families of the deceased and injured.
“We will establish a fund to assist bereaved families and those still receiving treatment in hospitals,” he said.
He reiterated that the previously scheduled demonstrations were canceled to honor the deceased, the injured, and their families.
Raila stated, “We extend our condolences to the families who have lost loved ones, and they are the reason we canceled the demonstrations.”
