Demos, Witchcraft Won’t Reduce Unga Costs – Ruto
William Ruto, the President of Kenya, has stated that there will be no reduction in the price of the Unga if the opposition continues to hold demonstrations.
Ruto has stated that by investing in Kenya’s farmers, the country’s food basket will significantly expand, which will result in a reduction in the cost of living.
“Wale wanashindana na sisi wanasema ati njia ya kubadilisha bei ya chakula ni kufanya maandamano na kuvaa sufuria kwa kichwa. Hata kwa uganga ama uchawi, ama hata dawa itabadilika namna gani?” he added.
This translates to “Our opponents are saying that by demonstrating the cost of living will go down, even by using witchcraft or other means will the cost of unga go down because of demonstrating? “
He made his remarks on Sunday during the interfaith prayers that were held in Taita Taveta.
According to him, farmers require quick access to low-cost fertilizers as well as shops located near their homes for convenience.
Ruto has stated on multiple occasions that he believes demonstrations do not have a positive influence on Kenyans.
Instead of gathering in the streets to demonstrate, Deputy President William Ruto encouraged Kenyans on Saturday to head out to their fields and work the land.
“If anyone wants to put their claims to the test, they should do so on their farms. He stated that this was the only solution to the unga problem.
The President has stated that staging protests against the administration will not result in the provision of adequate nutrition.
He went on to say that the time for elections had passed and that the current administration should concentrate on growing the country.
