‘Tutawanyorosha’: Ruto’s Confident Prediction for 2027 Win Over Raila

President William Ruto has criticized the Raila Odinga-led Azimio coalition for organizing a series of nationwide Maandamano protests against the Finance Act 2023 and the high cost of living.

The President stated that Kenyans had already voted for their preferred leader in the 2022 elections, but if the opposition still wants a chance to lead the country, it can wait until 2027, though he swiftly added that even then, it will be relegated to the dustbin of history.

“The people have already gone to the polls and chosen their preferred leaders, but if they still wish to try their luck in 2027, we will show them dust once more,” he said.

Ruto spoke in Vihiga on Saturday and stated, “Tell those who oppose the Act to cease. It will help generate possibilities.”

Ruto was in Vihiga to inaugurate the Mbale, Sabatia Constituency Vihiga Last Mile Water Supply Project.

He urged the opposition to cease advocating for the repeal of the Finance Act 2023, insisting that it will help to create opportunities for young people.

The Court of Appeal refused to rescind the suspension of the Finance Act pending the hearing and resolution of petitions filed against it by, among others, Senator Okiyah Omtatah of Busia.

Ruto criticized opposition leaders, stating that their children should head the Maandamano nationwide protests.

He posed the question, “Why do they want the children of others to be out for Maandamano when their children are safe at home?”

Ruto criticized the Maandamano demonstrations, stating that trade was being disrupted and business proprietors were counting losses rather than attempting to expand their companies.

Regarding the utilization of the Hustler Fund by Vihiga residents, Ruto criticized them for neglecting to repay loans.

“But you people of Vihiga have many problems; many of you have taken out loans, but you do not pay them back,” he said with a laugh.
