Museveni Declares Unbeatable Dominance in Uganda

Yoweri Museveni, the President of Uganda, has expressed full faith in his political party, the National Resistance Movement (NRM), while also highlighting the fact that no opposition in the country can compete with the power held by the political group.

A bullish Museveni observed that the opposition in Ugandan politics has not yet established a track record of accomplishments that can be demonstrated to be credible.

“There is no opposition in Uganda that I cannot overcome,” the president said. “They have no track record of what they have done on national issues,” Museveni is said to have said, according to the publication of the same name that serves the nation of Uganda, Daily Monitor.

“So, what exactly are they fighting against? In the current political climate of Uganda, I do not believe there is any other organization that can successfully challenge the NRM.

His statements come in the wake of previous statements made by Kizza Besigye, a former president of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and five-time presidential candidate in Uganda.

In those statements, Besigye accused Museveni of capturing the state and of purposely and systematically crippling the opposition in the country.

“The overarching issue is the takeover of state institutions that we are battling within our country. Museveni was the one who took control of the situation; after he did that, the military took control of the state. According to Pulse Uganda, Besigye made these comments to the media on Wednesday. “The State that was captured also meant capturing all institutions, and this was done in a process,” Besigye told the journalists.

A takeover of politics has occurred as a direct result of the commercialization of political processes. This is something that was done on purpose.

This has always included the patronage system, which extends favors to the most powerful political figures. The most fundamental aspect of the issue is that political parties have been unable to adapt to the fact that the state is being captured.
