Fears Dispelled: “Baba Ako Sawa,” Assures Winnie Odinga on Raila’s Location
Winnie Odinga, the daughter of opposition leader Raila Odinga, has come out to calm suspicions about her father’s whereabouts after he skipped Wednesday’s anti-government marches.
Responding to a Twitter user on Wednesday evening, Winnie Odinga declared matter-of-factly that the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya pointsman is doing well.
Twitter user Omwamba had posed: “Baba Raila Odinga is not in Karen, Baba Raila Odinga is not in the streets, Baba Raila Odinga is not in hospital, Where is Baba Raila Odinga amidst all these demonstrations?”
Winnie however came out to state: “Tulia. Baba ako Sawa. Stop making it hot.”
She went on to say that she had spoken with the previous prime minister, who had nagged her about going to the gym.
On Wednesday, social media was flooded with speculation when the Azimio leader unexpectedly skipped the anti-government marches.
The opposition leader, who announced on Twitter on Monday that the three-day rallies would begin on Wednesday, was nowhere to be found as his supporters flocked to the streets to take part in the demonstrations.

Citizen TV discovered no police barricades at his Karen home during a spot check. We found his offices on Capitol Hill and at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation to be unoccupied.
Raila was last seen in public on Wednesday when he gathered Azimio leaders in a press conference to decry the deaths of ten protestors in Mlolongo, Migori, and Kisumu.
Odinga vanished after Wednesday last week, with close supporters stating that the Azimio luminary traveled to Mombasa and then spent the weekend in Kilifi County’s Vipingo Ridges.
Odinga then returned to the county on Monday and attended a closed-door meeting of the Azimio Parliamentary group.
On that Monday, the State removed all of his allocated security personnel, affecting his guards as well as his properties in Karen, Kisumu, and Bondo.
The Azimio principals met on Tuesday at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation, but Odinga was again absent, with Narc Kenya chairman Martha Karua explaining that the Azimio boss was managing other obligations elsewhere.
Odinga was anticipated to return on Wednesday to join the three-day wave of protests, but he did not appear.
