Outrage Over Manager’s Arrest for Coercing Staff to Undress

On Thursday, July 6, a portion of lawmakers condemned a manager from a company in Limuru. For allegedly forcing female employees to undress at work.

Jane Kagiri Wangechi, the woman representative of Laikipia. Urged the government to develop a policy mandating the installation of waste disposal facilities. In workplace restrooms by private sector entities.

She argued that if the company in Limuru had proper disposal facilities, an unethical manager would not have forced female employees to disrobe for improperly disposing of a sanitary towel.

She, therefore, urged the government to implement a nationwide initiative to ensure compliance.

“According to this statement, the company did not provide appropriate working conditions for women, as a woman disposing of a sanitary towel in a trash can indicates that their restrooms lack disposal facilities.
Kagiri adamantly insisted that he would contact the appropriate authorities to ensure that factories had adequate storage for sanitary napkins.

Anne Wamuratha, the woman representative of Kiambu, raised the issue in the parliament. The lawmaker informed the legislature that the managers who forced female employees to disrobe for improperly discarding a sanitary pad had been apprehended.

Wamuratha vowed to ensure that the victims receive justice.

Wamuratha stated, “I will pursue this matter to ensure that justice is served and that these multinational corporations begin taking care of their employees, as well as to remind them that they owe an apology not only to their staff but also to the women of this country.”

Alice Nganga, a representative from Thika Town, urged the national government to work with employment agencies to protect the rights of workers. She bemoaned the fact that many employees, particularly women, were suffering in silence.

    What Police Reported

Philip Mwania, commander of the Limuru Sub-County Police, confirmed the incident and the arrest of the suspects on Thursday, July 6.

“On Wednesday, July 5, we received reports from female employees of the company. The act was cruel and unjustified. We visited the company and were able to apprehend three top female managers. “They are in our custody, their statements have been recorded, and they are awaiting transport to court,” Mwania said.

The company later announced the suspension of the involved managers.
