Missing Treasury Official’s Body Found in River Kuja, Migori County

Tom Osinde, a former employee of the National Treasury who was reported missing on June 18th, was discovered in River Kuja, Migori County.

After more than a week of searching, the police informed the family of the discovery on Thursday, June 29.

Enock Nemwel Osinde, the deceased’s brother, disclosed that the family was on its way to the scene at the time of publication.

Officers confirmed that the deceased’s body was already decomposing when discovered.

In a previous interview, Osinde’s farmhand stated that the deceased exhibited no signs of distress before being reported missing.

Before embarking on his journey from Nakuru to Kisii, Osinde instructed the farmhand to meet a woman who remained unnamed. He never returned.

“He sent me to a location, but he did not reveal the woman’s identity. The woman was to identify me based on my attire.

“Before I left, he had spoken on the phone with the lady. As instructed, I went to the gas station, where the attendant quickly recognized me, and handed over the cash, he said.

Saturday, June 24th, the family informed the press that his vandalized and abandoned vehicle was discovered in Kilgoris, Transmara West.

According to Osinde’s relatives, the last time they spoke with him was on Friday, June 23, when he left his residence in a car.

Osinde was a financial expert who earned a degree in economics from the University of Nairobi before joining the Ministry of Finance.

He resigned from the department in 2010 to manage his private business and lived peacefully on his Ngata Farm in Nakuru.

According to his family, Osinde was a fervent supporter of numerous nonprofit organizations. They also described him as a kind and generous man who was well-liked by his family and friends.
