Woman Seeks Justice: Kenya Power Director Accused of Assault in Sabaki, Machakos County(CCTV)
A woman in Sabaki, Machakos County. Is demanding justice after the director of Kenya Power, Veska Kangogo. Allegedly assaulted her last week at her place of business.
Beth Njeri claims that Kangogo stormed her workplace and demanded the release of her son’s phone. Which had been detained after he failed to pay a Ksh1,000 beer bill.
Kangogo is seen pushing a waiter into a wine and spirits shop on 19 June. CCTV footage captured at the Maybach Zone in Sabaki along Mombasa Road. They are then seen leaving and heading to the owner’s office, where she is seated and monitoring the business.
Njeri clings to the door while Kangogo pulls her and strikes her with the stick.
One group is seen rushing to the office to assist the injured Njeri, while another group removes the stick from her. Kangogo follows a security guard who is on his way to check on his boss; when the guard turns around, he and Kangogo engage in a heated argument. The duration of the drama was approximately ten minutes.

We return to the scene of the incident one week later. Njeri is bandaged on the head when we meet her. She explains that the altercation occurred due to a disagreement between her employee and Kangogo’s son, who was forced to leave behind his phone after failing to pay his Ksh.1,000 bill at their wine and spirits shop.
“Shida yake ilikuwa anasema kijana yake ameuziwa pombe na ati amenyanganywa simu na huyo kijana hakunyanganywa simu yeye mwenyewe aliwekelea simu in exchange of pombe ndio akipata doh alete ndio apewe simu yake ..,” says Njeri.
Kangogo, who spoke to Citizen TV via telephone, stated that she had visited the location after her son reported that his phone had been stolen there and that she had also filed a police report.
Mary Njoki, commander of the Athi River Sub-County Police, confirmed receiving the two complaints and stated that detectives are still investigating the matter.
