Senator Khalwale Performs Emergency Surgery on Attacked Lecturer
On Saturday, June 24, Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale performed a two-hour emergency surgery on a lecturer whose son allegedly attacked him.
According to the lawmaker, the man sustained severe machete wounds to the head and hands, causing him to bleed profusely.
Therefore, the instructor was rushed to Mukumu Hospital in Kakamega, prompting the medical staff to contact the legislator, a trained physician.
As doctors rushed to stabilize the patient, the senator disclosed that the two-hour-long surgical debridement and suturing prevented bleeding.
Khalwale also shared images of the lecturer before and after surgery, adding that he was recovering and receiving additional medical care.
“This morning, a lecturer at Kisumu Polytechnic suffered severe injuries after his machete-wielding son attacked him.” After a grueling 2 hours and 10-minute operation at Mukumu Hospital, I am pleased to have saved his life,” he said.

However, the source of the conflict between the lecturer and the son remained unknown.
Khalwale did not reveal whether or not the troubled father intended to obtain a P3 medical examination form and file a police report.
Following the surgery, Kenyans took to social media to congratulate the doctor whose prompt medical intervention saved the man’s life.
From 1981 to 1987, Khalwale earned a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Nairobi.
Before becoming the Ikolomani member of parliament in 2002, he worked as a medical officer for the Ministry of Health.
“I am a medical doctor with extensive experience in both public and private practice. Khalwale, who lost the 2017 gubernatorial election to former governor Wycliffe Oparanya, announced his manifesto in 2016 before the 2017 gubernatorial election, stating, “I will easily fix the health system in Kakamega.”
