    Health CS Susan Nakhumicha Vows to Drive NHIF Reforms

    CS for Health On Friday. Susan Nakhumicha stated that she will not give up on her efforts to ensure reforms at the National Health Insurance Fund.

    This comes at a time when investigations into allegations of fraud. By a subset of private health facilities through the use of fraudulent medical claims are still in progress.

    Following the allegations of fraudulent activity. The CS took disciplinary action against several of the branch managers at the fund on Monday, suspending eight of them.

    She went on to suspend for ninety days the operations of six private medical facilities. That were named in an exposรฉ for allegedly stealing money from the fund by filing false claims.

    Patients who were receiving outpatient treatment at the affected facilities have been informed that they can select alternative healthcare providers from the list of NHIF contracted facilities. This information was provided by Samson Kuhora, who is acting as the CEO of the NHIF.
