Top Official Deletes Revealing Tweet on Dusit II Counter-Attack Secrets

Former State House Chief of Staff and head of former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Presidential Delivery Unit. Mr. Nzioka Waita. Has stated that his tweet regarding the 2019 Dusit D2 attack was intended to thank the country’s security apparatus for a job well done.

Mr. Waita told GossipA2Z that the post was intended to commend. Former National Intelligence Service (NIS) director Philip Kameru for his excellent work. Particularly during the Dusit attack on January 15, 2019, in which 22 civilians and all five terrorists were killed.

“The post was intended to honor General Kameru; I was simply explaining what he did when he was in charge of NIS.” It was also intended to welcome his successor, Mr. Noordin Haji,” Mr. Waita told GossipA2Z in an exclusive interview.

He stated that he had no ill intentions and simply wished to inform the public. That the former NIS director also performed admirably during his tenure.

Mr. Nzioka described how the security apparatus was able to coordinate. And thwart the attack on Dusit D2 on the evening of 15 June 2023.

However, he deleted the tweets later on. “It was 4 a.m. on January 16, 2019, and we had established a secondary command post in the office of the minister of the interior. “At the center of each briefing were former Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’I, NIS DG Kameru, former Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet, former Interior PS Dr. Karanja Kibicho, former CAS Interior Patrick Ntutu, ICT CS Joe Mucheru, and former Special Advisor to the President on counter-terrorism Amb. Martin Kimani,” read a portion of the tweet.

He disclosed that Deputy Inspector General Douglas Kanja provided the briefings from within the Dusit D2 complex.

Mr. Waita stated that Mr. Kameru maintained his composure as he advised those on the ground to carry out the agreement.

According to him, Mr. Kameru was so confident that the threat would be neutralized within hours that he informed former President Uhuru Kenyatta to brief the nation by 10 a.m.

Mr. Waita stated that as soon as a suicide bomb detonated. All enemies were identified and shared with the nation’s security apparatus.

“The level of interagency cooperation was so seamless and free of territorial disputes. Mr. Kameru was the fulcrum of this intricate relationship between the security agencies; he always put the country before pride, according to the tweet.

He concluded by wishing Mr. Noordin Haji, the new head of MS, the best of luck. Mr. Waita was compelled to delete the tweet due to backlash from the general public.

“To those younglings who disliked my tweet about the Dusit response and for recognizing great work of those involved, I salute you for recognizing the tremendous effort of those involved. “Please calm down and take a deep breath; in time, you’ll learn not to take us too seriously, and you’ll devote your bundles to less vitriolic activities,” he wrote in another tweet.

He added that the current government led by President William Ruto. Will also face obstacles and will employ its strategies to overcome them.
