Gachagua Exposes Infamous Drug Cartel Members
Vice President Rigathi Gachagua intensified his war on drugs and substance abuse by submitting the names of notorious traffickers to National Government Administration Officers (NGAO) for punitive action.
Friday, June 16th, while speaking at the Kenya Urban Forum in Naivasha, Gachagua urged the County Commissioner of Nakuru to launch a crackdown and apprehend the listed traffickers.
“I have arrived with a list of those who manufacture and sell bhang. I will give you the item. Since I have intelligence on the ground, I have attempted to assist you,” the DP stated.
“Commissioner, I have done my part to deal with these individuals; now let’s save our young men,” he continued.
According to the DP, a friend who is also part of the multi-agency team coordinating the nationwide crackdown to save the youth from the menace tipped him off.
In response to Gachagua’s order, the commissioner promised to investigate the suspects within one week.
The second-in-command argued that illegal brew had rendered the youth unemployed because some of them spent nights in questionable establishments while intoxicated.
Gachagua lamented, “We want these young men to be masons and plumbers, but some are sleeping on the streets after consuming alcohol and bhang.”

Gachagua also reaffirmed President William Ruto’s pledge to provide youth with affordable housing and employment opportunities through the program.
He stated that the project will run concurrently with the drug and substance abuse crackdown.
“With the help of our local and international partners who have been kind enough to support our affordable housing program, we will not relent in our efforts to provide our people with affordable housing, clean water, and improved sanitation to restore their dignity.”
Gachagua stated, “This is a commitment from the highest level of government because now is the time to respect our people.”
He explained that the enforcement would prepare the youth for employment opportunities within the Affordable Housing project.
Gachagua was accompanied to the forum by the governor of Nakuru, Susan Kihika, the cabinet secretary for land, Zachary Njeru, and the principal secretary for housing, Charles Hinga, among other leaders.
