Ruto Allies Call Out Opposition’s Hypocrisy on Finance Bill

Elected Kenya Kwanza political leaders in Uasin Gishu have called their Opposition counterparts hypocrites for their stance on the Finance Bill that will be introduced in the National Assembly next week.

The Bill, according to Governor Jonathan Bii, Senator Jackson Mandago, and Members of Parliament Prof Phyllis Bartoo (Moiben) and Julius Rutto (Moiben), seeks to expand the country’s revenue base and is beneficial to the country.

“Even the Bible commands us to give Caesar what is Caesar’s and God what is God’s. Governor Bii stated that those who oppose the bill are hypocritical because the country requires funds to operate. “Those who oppose the bill are hypocritical because they were previously in government and the country requires funds to operate.”

On Sunday, he was among the leaders who attended a service of thanksgiving and fundraiser for ACK St Stephens Oasis in Eldoret.

The governor of Uasin Gishu stated, “As Kenyans, we should support the government to ensure appropriate service delivery.”

“Each government has a development policy that is typically financed by taxes. “The Kenya Kwanza government is no different from previous regimes that also implemented a variety of tax policies to achieve their development objectives,” he said.

Governor Bii rallied Kenyans to accept the passage of the controversial Bill, stating that it was in the best interests of the country and would assist the government in reducing the current high cost of living.

Senator Mandago stated that those at the forefront of the bill’s opponents have experience in government. And are familiar with how it operates.

“During their campaigns for the 2022 General Election, all the leaders who are currently opposing the Finance Bill championed affordable housing.” They lost the election and are now opposed to all government initiatives in Kenya Kwanza. Senator: “We should not play politics with the lives of Kenyans.”

Mr. Mandago stated that those who oppose the Finance Bill. Do not wish for President William Ruto’s development agenda to succeed. And have resorted to propaganda to distract his administration.

“It is always difficult to make decisions that will bring about change, and President Ruto’s proposed Bill is among such difficult resolutions. The Finance Bill will help us manage the country’s current economic situation, which has led to high living costs, he said.

According to him. Opponents of the bill are only focused on the housing levy. Even though the bill contains numerous exemptions that will result in a more affordable cost of living.

“The more a nation borrows, the more it loses. We should accept the Bill despite its bitter taste. We will eventually reap its benefits,” he said.
