All members will contribute to research on the causes of crime and its prevention. As well as the dissemination of research findings and recommendations to government agencies involved in the administration of criminal justice.

NCRC was established by international best practices. In which research has provided vital information on what works to reduce crime and disorder. And assisted in the development of programs that can assist criminal justice agencies.

The center was established by the National Research Act of 1997, which describes its functions.

“The center shall disseminate its research findings through publications, workshops, seminars, the mass media, and other appropriate means of dissemination,” states a section of the Act.

The Act stipulates that council members serve for three years and are eligible for reappointment.

It is responsible for organizing and planning fund-raising events to generate funds for the center. As well as formulating the center’s research policies and programs.

A portion of the Act states, “The Council shall meet at such times as the chairman may determine, but not less than once every three months.”

“It may appoint such committees as it deems necessary for the performance of its duties under this Act and shall prescribe the operating conditions for such committees.”
