End of an Era: Sauti Sol to Disband in 2023
Sauti Sol has announced that they will disband following their tour of the United States, Europe, and Canada.
Sauti Sol will disband following their upcoming Madaraka Day tour in the United States. The members of the group have already traveled for the upcoming performances.
In a statement, Sauti Sol informed their fans that they would be taking an indefinite hiatus (which, according to Urban Dictionary, is a fancy term for ‘break up’). Bands use it in the belief that it will soften the blow for their fans, even though they are aware of the harsh reality.
“The upcoming tour across the United States, Europe, and Canada is the final opportunity for fans to experience the magic of Sauti Sol. Before the band takes a short break from group projects.”
The group expressed profound appreciation for their fans’ unwavering support throughout the years.
“With the indefinite hiatus, a specific chapter comes to a close. As close friends and business partners, the members of the band are eager to explore new creative avenues and pursue personal projects, according to the statement.
On December 16th, Sauti Sol will perform a second time at the third annual Sol Fest in Nairobi.
