DJ Fatxo Cleared in Jeff Mwathi Murder Investigation
Lawrence Njuguna, aka DJ Fatxo, was acquitted of murder charges in Jeff Mwathi’s death investigation on May 17.
In a four-page statement written by his attorney Duncan Okatch. And seen by GossipA2Z, the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) agreed with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) that there is no evidence linking him to Mwathi’s death.
He added that the ODPP had recommended an inquest as a means to conclude the investigation.
“It is abundantly clear that there is not a single shred or iota of evidence to suggest our client’s criminal culpability or suspicion thereof.
“It is abundantly clear that our client was not even at his residence at the time that his friend, Jeff MWathi, died,” the statement read in part.
DJ Fatxo thanked the DCI for exonerating him. Stating that despite public perception, they displayed high levels of professionalism. Independence, and concentration.
“Our client is pleased that the truthful stance he has always advocated and maintained regarding his innocence has finally come to light.
“He is very thankful to the DCI and ODPP for exhibiting great standards of professionalism, independence, and focus despite the orchestrated public and social media machinations to obfuscate the truth and spread extremely damaging outright defamatory lies and versions,” the statement read in part.

The attorney asserted that DJ Fatxo forgave all those who spread false information and engaged in cyberbullying.
He stated that the delay was detrimental to his reputation and well-being. The DJ, however, stated that he would return to his normal life in the music industry.
“Our client will now resume his normal life and do what he does best, which is making people shake their legs,” the attorney said. “He hopes that this challenge, which he has now overcome, will have a positive impact on anyone who finds himself prejudged before his side of the story is heard.”
