Raila Detects State’s Mischief with Shakahola Cult

Raila Odinga, the leader of the opposition, has leveled accusations against the government, saying that it “managed the Shakahola massacre in secrecy, in a manner that is also likely to suggest that it has something fishy it wants to hide.”

Mr. Odinga, the leader of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition, made this statement on Friday.

He continued by saying that when he recently attempted to go to Shakahola, Kilifi County, to witness the exhumation of the bodies of cult leader Paul Mackenzie’s followers, “the security officers chased me out saying they did not want witnesses.”

“There is something that this government is trying to keep hidden. He made these remarks at the Anglican Church of Kenya in Gitui, which is located in Murang’a County. “An issue of such public interest needs openness,” he said.

He was present at the funeral of Mary Nyambura Cyrus, who had passed away at the age of 82. She was the mother of Ms. Jane Waigwe, who was married to the former Governor of Murang’a County, Mr. Mwangi wa Iria.

Mr. Odinga went on to say that the government should be criticized for its “habit of chest thumping and forcing things.”

“If an employee has their own home, does not need one, or can afford their arrangements to own one, why would the government force this on them?” he asked, using the example of the three percent housing tax. “Why would the government force this on them?”

In addition to this, he criticized the Kenya Kwanza government’s Finance Bill, 202. And he further accused the government of President William Ruto of engaging in tribalism regarding matters such as state jobs.

“On a personal level, I am unable to advocate tribalism. He said to those who were grieving, “I believe in nationalism.”

The head of Azimio went on to declare that the government of Kenya Kwanza was an enemy. Of both the hustler nation and democracy. Due to a taxation system that was “crashing” and the alleged buying off of opposition leaders.

Even worse, he isn’t consulting with anyone. “He is coming up with taxes that are a crashing burden to the very lowly placed on whose shoulders he campaigned,” he said. “He is coming up with taxes that are a crashing burden to the very lowly placed.”

Mr. Odinga’s point man in the Mt. Kenya region, Mr. Kamau Mweha, caused a stir among the attendees of the funeral by claiming that the government intends to prevent opposition leaders from attending the burial of freedom fighter Mukami Kimathi in Nyandarua County on Saturday.

Mr. Mweha did not provide any evidence to support the claims that he made.
“We will be there to attend the burial,” he stated.
