Chebukati’s Wife Shortlisted for CRA Chair After PS Job Miss
Mary Chebukati Wanyonyi, the wife of former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairperson Wafula Chebukati, has been considered for the position of Chairperson at the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA).
Mary is one of nine candidates vying for the government position.
These individuals include Maurice Odhiambo Onyango, Hussein Elema Dima, Charles Githinji Gathuto, Esther J. Joimett, Paul Kuria Kamau, Felicity Nkirote Biriri, Thomas Ludindi Mwiadghu, John Njeri Njagi, and Moses K. Lessonet.
“Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on the date and time specified at the Public Service Commission, Commission House, Harambee Avenue, Nairobi. “Candidates must arrive at least fifteen (15) minutes before the start time,” reads a portion of the PSC statement.
The candidates are expected to attend interviews on May 10 and 11, 2023, on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
All candidates must present original copies of several documents, including national identification cards, academic and professional certificates, transcripts, and other supporting documents and testimonials.
In addition, they must submit clearance forms from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB). A registered Credit Reference Bureau, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). And a printed online self-declaration application acknowledgment receipt or a self-declaration form. Duly stamped by the Ethical and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) for the job application.

According to the PSC, candidates with degrees from foreign universities must have a letter of qualification recognition from the Commission for University Education (CUE) and recommendations from relevant professional organizations.
The PSC urged the public to share any credible information regarding any of the shortlisted candidates, either online or in person.
The deadline for submissions is May 9, 2023.
Mary was selected among 477 other candidates for the position of principal secretary in October 2022.
She previously served as the Director General in charge of Accounting and Quality Assurance at the Ministry of Treasury.
Additionally, Mary worked as a Senior Deputy Accountant General for the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning.
She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) with a Bachelor’s in Commerce and a Master’s in Business Administration.
Her husband, Wafula Chebukati, resigned from the IEBC on January 17 after completing his constitutional term, during which he oversaw the 2017 and 2022 general elections.
