    “Gen Ogolla and Mwangi Sworn-In As Chief and Vice Chief of Defence Forces”

    A ceremony took place at State House in Nairobi on Saturday to swear in Lieutenant General Francis Omondi Ogolla and Lieutenant General Jonah Maina Mwangi as the new Chief of Defense Forces and Vice Chief of Defense Forces, respectively.
    Ogolla takes over for General Robert Kariuki Kibochi, whose term as commander-in-chief has concluded.

    Before his appointment by President William Ruto, General Ogolla was serving as the Vice Chief of the Defense Forces (VCDF).

    According to a circular from the Ministry of Defence, General Kibochi is leaving the armed forces after having served for 44 years.

    As part of the military changes, President Ruto also elevated Major General Said Farah to the position of Vice Chancellor of the National Defense University.

    The position of Assistant Chief of the Defense Forces Personnel and Logistics (ACDF P&L) was given to Brigadier General David Kipkemboi Keter. Who was also given the rank of Major General.

    The Head of State awarded Major General rank to Brigadier General Stephen James Mutuku. And appointed him to the position of Senior Directing Staff (Army) at the National Defense College.

    Brigadier General John Maison Nkoimo has been promoted to the rank of Major General. And given the position of Commandant of the Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC).

    In the slew of changes, Brigadier Abdulkadir Mohammed Burje has been promoted to the rank of Major General. And has been given the position of Director of Military Intelligence (DMI). In addition, Brigadier Paul Owuor Otieno, who has also been promoted to the rank of Major General. Has been given the position of Managing Director at Kenya Shipyards Limited.
