Pastor Ezekiel’s Lawyer Jared Magolo delivers scorching rebuttals in court

Pastor Ezekiel Odero was indicted on suspicion of having ties to the controversial Pastor Paul Mackenzie.

His attorney, Jared Magolo, questioned the police analogy connecting Pastor Ezekiel’s television station to the Shakahola murders.

The attorney argued that the religious leader could not be charged with the alleged crimes committed by the former owner of the television station.

Ezekiel Odero, an Embattled preacher from Mombasa County. Appeared before the Shanzu Law Courts, where he was charged with Shakahola murders.

During the session, the prosecutor sought orders to detain the man of God for thirty days. To allow police to complete their investigations into his role in the horrific deaths.

According to the prosecution, Ezekiel and the controversial Pastor Paul Mackenzie were close friends. And engaged in massively profitable business transactions.

The prosecution disclosed that Ezekiel purchased a television station from Mackenzie, claiming he used the station to brainwash his followers.

However, in a vigorous defense, Pastor Ezekiel’s attorney Jared Magolo questioned the police’s reasoning.

While defending his client’s innocence, the attorney wondered how the preacher’s purchase of a television station could be linked to the Shakahola murders.

According to Magolo, if the court were to uphold this analogy. Then people who purchase secondhand items would be held accountable for the crimes committed by the previous owners.

“The acquisition of the television station is unrelated to the Shakahola murders.” If this analogy were upheld, then all of us who have purchased used automobiles would be held liable for the crimes committed by the previous owners. Including their domestic disputes, his attorney argued in court.

Magolo argued that Ezekiel could not be held responsible for the death of a churchgoer who had sought prayers as a last resort. Despite the fact that some New Life Prayer Centre members had died in the church.

“People seek spiritual intervention at the end of their lives, after all medical interventions have failed.” Now, if such a person passes away, are we to turn to the pastor and hold him responsible? A pastor is not responsible for a churchgoer’s death. Prayers are typically reserved for the terminally ill. They could or could not survive. “My client has been reporting these deaths for those who never received treatment,” said Magolo.
