Mombasa Televangelist Ezekiel to Face Arraignment

His alleged indoctrination of his followers led to his arrest.

Following his arrest on Thursday, Pastor Ezekiel Odero of the New Life Prayer Centre and Church will be arraigned at the Mombasa Law Courts on Friday morning.

His alleged indoctrination of his followers led to his arrest.

This occurred just one day after he was interrogated for hours over cultism allegations, which he denied.

Coast Regional Commissioner Rhodah Onyancha told the media that several deaths have been reported on the pastor’s property and others have been recorded in morgues that may be related to him.

“We have arrested Pastor Odero of the New Prayer Centre church in Mavueni, Kilifi, on suspicion of deaths allegedly occurring on his property and reported to various morgues and institutions,” he said.

Additionally, Pastor Ezekiel’s New Prayer Centre was closed.

“Effective immediately, we have closed down the prayer center. Whoever was inside has been removed. We will provide updates as our investigations progress,” Onyancha added.

According to Interior CS Kithure Kindiki, the televangelist will be charged with the mass murder of his followers.

Kindiki informed the public that on Thursday, April 27, 2023, Mr. Ezekiel Ombok Odero, the leader of the New Life Prayer Centre/Church in Mavueni, Malindi Sub-County, Kilifi County, had been arrested and was being processed to face criminal charges related to the mass murder of his followers.

However, according to Ezekiel’s attorney Jared Magolo, the pastor will have nothing on him.

The attorney stated that he is unaware of Pastor Paul Mackenzie’s relationship with Ezekiel at Good News International Church.

“We have spoken with the officers, who are conducting an investigation. They will inform us of the situation, he said.

He stated that the police will release the pastor once they have finished questioning him.
