Kamene Goro, Shaffie Weru, and Peirra Makenna Join NRG Radio
Shaffie Weru has joined NRG Radio, having secured a new position with Nairobi County only weeks prior.
On NRG Radio, media personalities Kamene Goro and Shaffie Weru are making a comeback.
On April 26, 2023, Kamene posted a notice announcing that she has joined NRG Radio to co-host ‘NRG Transit’ with Shaffie Weru and DJ Pierra Makena.
“Good Morning My Loves!!!!!!! @shaffieweru @pierramakenaofficial do you think they are ready for this one? @nrgradiokenya,” Kamene Goro shared.
On Friday, their new show will run from 3:00 to 7:oopm.

According to credible sources cited by Dennis Milimo of Mpasho, this week’s performance will be more of a trial run before the NRG management decides whether to retain the trio permanently.
Radio Africa Group hired Kamene to co-host The Morning Kiss with Andrew Kibe.
“It is official. Kamene Goro and Andrew Kibe are leaving. #NRGBreakfastClub. You lit this joint…We wish you all the best @kamenegoro and @kibeandy. #NRGBreakfastClub,” wrote NRG back in 2019.
The Radio Africa group recruited Kibe and Kamene to replace Adelle Onyango, who retired after seven years. During this time, Kiss 100 also rebranded with a brand-new studio.
Sheila Kwamboka aka Kwambox replaced Kamene Goro on Kiss FM in January 2023, after Goro’s departure.
“I’ve seen these stories, the truth is I was not fired, my contract lapsed and there was no need to move forward with it.
“I was however sick last year and I followed the protocol and gave in the letters. I never showed up at work sometimes but it is because I was sick. Also never showed up at work intoxicated. Because I run the desk and you can’t run the desk when you are drunk,” Kamene stated.
In contrast, Shaffie Weru joined NRG Radio just weeks after beginning a new position with Nairobi County.
For the next five years, the former Kiss FM host will be responsible for events and branding in Nairobi County.
“Looking forward to making Nairobi work and be great again just as it’s indicated in the Governor’s manifesto,” Shaffie Weru said.
