Police Uncover Suspected Shakahola Cult Mastermind Linked to Mackenzie
A man believed to be a co-mastermind and the lead clergy associated with cult leader Paul Mackenzie is currently in police custody.
On a portion of the vast, 800-acre property that the cult leader owns, the alleged mastermind, who gave his name as “Pastor Zablon Wa Yesu,” was located while reading the Bible.
On Monday, the police also rescued nine people who were in danger of starving to death. Five of the people who were rescued were in critical condition and were taken to the hospital as soon as they could.

The alleged mastermind, on the other hand, was not fasting. He stated that he would begin his fast in June along with a few other men from the Good News International Church. He was waiting until June to begin this practice.
The number of bodies recovered from a single location is now the highest it has been since the operation to exhume victims began a week ago. On Monday, the authorities confirmed finding seven bodies in one grave.
Today, a large group of government officials, including the Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome, the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Amin Mohammed, and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji, traveled to the village of Shakahola.
Following the discovery of 11 additional bodies today, IG Koome brought the total number of bodies unearthed to 50 earlier today.
Today also marked the first time that President William Ruto has addressed the issue publicly.
