Malindi Cult Leader on Hunger Strike 4 Days After Arrest

Pastor Paul Mackenzie’s controversial cult leader from Kilifi, Kenya, has refused to eat or drink while in police custody.

The police disclosed to Nation that the pastor with a cult following had been on hunger strike since his arrest.

The police reported that Mackenzie had not eaten since homicide detectives began marking gravesites and exhuming the bodies of his alleged members, who were believed to have starved to death in Shakahola village, after expanding their investigation.

They reported that the cleric resisted their attempts to give him a glass of water because he is fasting and praying.

Investigators discover 27 graves. In the reopened investigation of Mackenzie, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations discovered additional fresh graves in Malindi’s Shakahola forest.

While rescuing members of the Good News International Church, the detectives discovered twelve unmarked graves.

The discovery of the new graves brought the total number of graves discovered to date to 27, as detectives prepare to commence the exhumation process.

Detectives found the new graves thanks to Mackenzie’s rescued followers.

According to George Migosi, the Regional Director of Children’s Services for the Coast, children are the most affected. It was discovered that children began fasting first, followed by women and men, as per the directive issued by Mackenzie’s Ministry.

Kilifi man describes how his wife left him for a cult. A Kilifi man described how his wife joined Mackenzie’s cult.

In 2019, he revealed that he was at home when his wife began to watch Mackenzie’s church services on television.

After a few episodes, the terrified husband reported that his wife decided to join the church. She claimed that it was the only place where Christ existed. “This all started when my wife began watching church services on television; after a while, she told me she was joining the church because she had seen Christ,” the man explained.

While working away from home in 2021, he explained that his wife and three of their children had left and never returned.
