Gachagua to Arrive in Kenya from US Tour at Noon
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is set to land back in Kenya today at exactly noon.
The Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) has confirmed that plans are in place to welcome their party leader at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
According to a statement from the party, Gachagua will head straight into a โmeet-the-peopleโ tour from JKIA to Nairobiโs Central Business District (CBD) shortly after arrival.
Gachagua has been away for three weeks on an official tour of the United States, where he met with Kenyans in the diaspora.
Government Plays Down Security Concerns
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has dismissed fears of unrest over Gachaguaโs return. Speaking in Murangโa during the ongoing Jukwaa la Usalama forum, Murkomen assured Kenyans that security agencies are ready to maintain order.
He emphasized that the National Police Service will protect citizens and property, warning that anyone planning to disrupt peace will face legal action.
โWe know there are people making threats of chaos. The law will deal with anyone who tries to cause violence. I hope Kenya remains as calm as it has been in the last few weeks,โ Murkomen stated.

Why Gachagua Cut Short His US Tour
On August 11, Gachagua announced that he was ending his US trip early to help his party prepare for the upcoming November by-elections.
He described the tour as โsuccessful and fulfilling,โ highlighting his interactions with Kenyan communities abroad. However, he noted that he had to return home to focus on local politics.
Explosive Allegations Against Ruto
Gachaguaโs return comes amid rising political tension following his controversial allegations against President William Rutoโs administration.
While in the US, the former DP claimed that President Ruto secretly met with Al-Shabaab militants, financed Sudanโs Rapid Support Forces (RSF), and used Al-Shabaab intermediaries in the release of kidnapped chiefs in Mandera.
These claims have drawn sharp criticism from senior government officials, including Murkomen, who dismissed them as dangerous and irresponsible.
