Former Employee Kills Four in Kentucky Bank Shooting

A shooting at a bank in Louisville, Kentucky, has resulted in four deaths and eight injuries, including two police officers.

The deputy chief of the Louisville Metro Police Department, Paul Humphrey, stated that one officer was in critical condition and that five people, including the suspect, had been confirmed dead.

Officers “encountered active gunshots still being fired inside the location at that time,” Mr. Humphrey said, describing the scene on East Main Street.

He also said, “The shooter was confirmed dead at the scene.” The specifics of his death are currently unknown.

Local TV reported that witnesses who had left the bank earlier reported hearing gunfire.

Mr. Humphreys elaborated, saying, “We believe this is a lone gunman involved in this, that he did have a connection to the bank.

We’re looking into how this relates to the company. But he seems to have been a former worker.

Mayor of Louisville Andy Greenberg praised the city’s emergency responders, saying, “Without a doubt, their actions saved lives.”

He pledged that the community would work together to stop gun violence in the area and across the state.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said he lost friends in the shooting at the building, which is close to Louisville Slugger Field and Waterfront Park, two parks that host minor league baseball games.

“This is terrible,” he exclaimed. A dear friend of mine passed away today. Another close friend of mine didn’t. And one who I’m hoping will pull through at the hospital.
