Kenya Power Announces Planned Power Outages in Six Counties Thursday

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions on Thursday to allow for system maintenance. The affected counties are Nairobi, Kiambu, Samburu, Kajiado, Nandi, and Elgeyo Marakwet. Power will be switched off in specific areas between 8 AM and 5 PM.

Nairobi County

In South C, power will be off from 9 AM to 5 PM in the following areas:

Nairobi South Hospital
Khalsa School
CID Training School
Kaisungura Road
Razana Hotel
Mow Sports Club and nearby customers

In Kibera, affected areas include:

Carrefour, Chinese Centre, Tigoni Road, Kamburu Lane
Argwings Kodhek Road, Chaka Road, Chaka Mall
All of George Padmore, French School, and Circle Mall

The power outage will affect:

Sokonik, Kabururet, and nearby customers

Elgeyo Marakwet County

Areas affected include:

Sego, Emoea, and nearby customers

Why Is the Power Being Switched Off?

Kenya Power is conducting system maintenance to improve electricity supply and reliability. The planned outage is temporary, and power will be restored as soon as the maintenance work is completed.
