Morara Kebaso Drops Bombshell on Gachagua’s ‘Tribal Agenda’ – Hints at Ditching Alliance
INJECT Party Leader Morara Kebaso has signaled a possible exit from the opposition alliance led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. On Saturday, Kebaso expressed concerns over what he described as “tribal-driven politics.”
In a tweet, Kebaso criticized Gachagua’s continued focus on Mt. Kenya politics. He accused him of seeking power for the region instead of promoting national unity. His remarks suggest growing divisions within the opposition alliance.
Kebaso Questions Opposition Unity
Kebaso urged opposition leaders to reflect on their shared values and vision for Kenya’s future. He questioned the ideological foundation of their unity.
“Leaders of opposition should unite. I agree 100 percent. But what is the glue that will hold us together? Do we have shared values? Are we uniting to replace the problem with another problem?” Kebaso wrote.
Ethnic Politics vs. Real Change
Kebaso has been working alongside Gachagua, Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, People’s Liberation Party Leader Martha Karua, and DAP-Kenya Leader Eugene Wamalwa. However, he insists that ethnic-based leadership cannot bring meaningful change.
“Kenyan politics is tribal. YES, WE KNOW THAT. That is why we want to change it,” he stated.
He argued that tribal politics create leaders without vision and allow corruption to thrive under ethnic protection.
“Because the tribal process sows hate and division. We can change it. We must change it,” Kebaso emphasized.
Gen Z’s Role in 2027 Elections
Kebaso, a self-proclaimed Gen Z leader, gained fame for exposing unfulfilled government projects on social media. He believes Gen Z voters will be key in shaping Kenya’s 2027 elections.
“The Gen Zs have more than 10 million TRIBELESS votes. Keep laughing at us and mocking us. We look like dreamers. WATCH THIS DREAM,” he declared.
Gachagua’s Impeachment
Gachagua became Kenya’s first Deputy President to be impeached in October 2024. Members of Parliament accused him of promoting tribal politics—charges he denied but which led to his removal from office.
Kebaso’s latest remarks highlight growing tensions within the opposition. His potential exit could reshape the political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
