President William Ruto has urged Kenyans to assess his leadership based on the progress and development he will have delivered by the 2027 elections.
Speaking at Njiru Junction on Friday, Ruto reminded Kenyans that the next general elections will be held in 2027, and it will be up to the people to decide who their leader will be. He emphasized the importance of hard work and assured Kenyans that he will fulfill his responsibilities as required by the Constitution.
The President dismissed his critics, stating that the election will be the time to evaluate every leader based on their performance and contributions to the country.
Ruto’s Commitment to Development
“Tusikizane rafiki zangu, sasa ni 2025, uchaguzi utakuwa 2027. Nyinyi ndio mtaamua kulingana na ile kazi mtu amefanya. Kila mtu afanye bidii. Kazi yangu nitafanya. Nitapanga ajira ya hawa vijana, barabara zenu, maji, madarasa, nitasomesha watoto wenu tukutane 2027 na wale wako na maneno. Nyinyi ndio mtaamua watu wa Njiru, kila mtu atapimwa na kazi yake,” Ruto said.
Ruto further stated that his administration is committed to ensuring that every Kenyan benefits from government projects and policies. He reiterated that he will continue to push for economic growth, job creation, and infrastructural development across the country.
Key Projects and Government Initiatives
During his speech, President Ruto highlighted several initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Kenyans. These include:
- Job Creation – The government is working on strategies to provide employment opportunities for the youth by encouraging entrepreneurship, investing in industries, and attracting foreign investments.
- Infrastructure Development – Roads, bridges, and transport systems are being upgraded to enhance connectivity and ease movement within the country.
- Water Supply Projects – Efforts are being made to ensure that more Kenyans have access to clean and reliable water sources.
- Education Reforms – The administration is investing in better learning facilities, more classrooms, and enhanced teacher training to improve education quality.
- Economic Growth – Policies are being put in place to stabilize the economy, reduce the cost of living, and support small businesses.
Nationwide Development Tours
President Ruto has been actively engaging in development tours across the country to assess ongoing projects and launch new initiatives. He was accompanied in Njiru by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and other government officials.
Ruto is currently on a five-day development tour of Nairobi City County. During this tour, he has commissioned several projects and inspected ongoing ones. The government is keen on ensuring that Nairobi’s infrastructure is improved, employment opportunities are created, and the quality of life for residents is enhanced.
The tours are part of his administration’s broader strategy to ensure that development reaches all corners of Kenya. So far, he has toured the North Eastern, Coast, and Western Kenya regions, where he has launched numerous projects.
His next stop will be in the Mt Kenya region, where he is expected to address various issues, including economic empowerment, agriculture, and infrastructure expansion.
