Kenya Power Announces Planned Power Interruptions in 11 Counties
Kenya Power has announced that several areas in 11 counties will experience power interruptions on Thursday due to system maintenance. The planned outage will take place between 8 AM and 5 PM in different locations.
Affected Counties
The counties that will be affected include Nairobi, Machakos, Kiambu, Murang’a, Mombasa, Marsabit, Tharaka Nithi, Nyeri, Meru, Kakamega, and Vihiga.
Nairobi
Power will be off in parts of Nairobi from 9 AM to 5 PM. Areas affected include:
- Murang’a Road
- Gurunanak Hospital
- Pangani Police
- Juja Road
- Radiant Hospital
- North View Road
- Strawberry and surrounding areas
Other areas include parts of Mbagathi Road, Akila Estate, Civil Servant Estate, Hamayun, Akiba Estate, Muslim Academy, Kinder World, Airport View Estate, White Star Academy, and Strathmore College.
Machakos
Power will be off from 9 AM to 5 PM in the following areas:
- Makutano Mwala
- Mwala
- Kivandini
- Wamunyu
- Ikalaasa
- Tulila
- Kenyaata
- Seku University
- Kyua
Kakamega
Power interruptions will occur from 9 AM to 5 PM in:
- Igukhu Hospital
- Makhokho
- Khaega and surrounding areas
Vihiga
Power will be off from 9 AM to 5 PM in:
- Shell Petrol Luanda
- Maseno Police
- Sunrise
- Maseno Ekwanda
- Maseno Sunga
- Holo
- Bishop Olang
Nyeri
Scheduled power cuts from 8 AM to 5 PM will affect:
- Muruguru Kwa Kigera
- Vet Pro Factory
- Githiru Market
- Royal Petrol Station
Meru
From 8:30 AM to 5 PM, power will be interrupted in:
- Mucuune
- Maliolo
- St. Stephen Primary School
- Gachuuru Market
- Kieni IBC
Additional areas include Safaricom Kiirua, Sera Park Hotel, Machaka Slums, and Ntugi Market.
Tharaka Nithi
Power outages will occur from 8:30 AM to 5 PM in:
- Karamani
- Cheera Market
- Ithima Village
- Salama Boarding
Marsabit
From 8 AM to 3 PM, these areas will be affected:
- Moyale Town
- Moyale Hospital
- Kinisa Mosque
Murang’a
Power interruptions from 8:30 AM to 5 PM will affect:
- Golf View Estate
- Thika Greens
- Kandara Town
- Muruka Market
Kiambu
From 9 AM to 5 PM, the following areas will be affected:
- Kahuho High School
- Kirangari Boys
- Nyathuna
- Part of Gitaru
- Lower Kabete Junction
Mombasa
Power will be off from 9 AM to 5 PM in:
- Fast African Storage
- Gulf Stream
- Vivo Energy
