Thomas Cashman Sentenced to Life for Murdering Olivia Pratt-Korbel
Today, a SATANISTIC gunman was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Olivia Pratt-Korbel because he refused to face her mother in court.
When she was gunned down at her family’s home in Liverpool, the nine-year-old was caught in the crossfire of a vicious gang war.
The child was standing behind her mother Cheryl Korbel when gang hitman Thomas Cashman, 34, fired blindly through the front door.
His bullet missed its intended target, Joseph Nee, and instead entered Olivia’s chest through Cheryl’s hand.
She ran screaming from her bedroom after hearing the commotion, yelling “Mum, I’m scared” mere moments earlier.
Today, Cashman was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 42 years for the “particularly heinous” and “chilling” murder.
As the sentence was handed down, Olivia’s mother sobbed while clutching a pink teddy bear made from her daughter’s pajamas.
As a result of his defense claiming he was aware that prosecutors sang “We are the Champions” following his conviction, the murderer refused to attend his sentencing.
Mrs. Justice Yip, the presiding judge, stated that Olivia’s family “suffered an unimaginable loss” that they must “carry for the rest of their lives.”
She described the horror by stating that Cashman knew a completely innocent woman was standing by the door, but he still chose to shoot her.
A young child was shot and killed in her own home, the judge added.
“Olivia was descending the stairs to seek comfort.
“Cheryl Korbel ought to have been able to reassure Olivia and tuck her back into bed.
“The occurrence was chilling.

“Shooting into a family home without regard for who may be caught in the crossfire is an extremely aggravating circumstance.”
Today, in an emotional victim impact statement, Cheryl described feeling “helpless” and unable to save her daughter because of her gunshot wound.
She also disclosed that her “worst nightmare” consisted of “being separated from Liv and not being there when she needed me the most.”
Cheryl added, about her anguish following Olivia’s passing, “Liv never stopped talking. She would engage in conversation. I miss hearing her voice and hearing her say’mum’ the most.
“It’s just so quiet. I would do anything to engage her in conversation. How lonely it is without her. Everything is very peaceful. I cannot endure the silence.
She described how the horror occurred at home, “where we should have been safe,” and how everything was left untouched when the family was compelled to flee.
This included teacups on a table next to a Princess Trust form where kind Olivia intended to donate her hair and a doll on the floor.
Cheryl, who described the experience as “complete heartbreak,” added, “At that precise moment, I was at home.” Our lives were back to normal before that night.
“I soaked up my surroundings until the harsh light of reality returned me to our living nightmare.”

The mother stated that Cashman’s evil actions have “created a void in our lives that will never be filled.”
She described how her family has been “living day-to-day” while awaiting the trial and “not addressing how broken our family is.”
She criticized Cashman and added, “I cannot comprehend how Cashman continued to shoot after hearing the screams.
“That man set out to complete a task without regard for other people or obstacles.
He, too, was incapable of possessing it.
The mother continued, “My nine-year-old daughter Liv was the joy of our lives.” Liv was a character and my child. She possessed remarkable qualities and was aware of her life goals.
“She will never have the opportunity to wear a prom dress, celebrate her 16th birthday, walk down the aisle, or become a mother with her children.
“All hope for her future was cruelly snuffed out. Now I must travel to the cemetery to be near my infant daughter.
“I miss her grin, her kisses, and her hugs. She will always be by my side, my shadow.
“We love you endless amounts.”
Chloe, sister of Olivia, paid tribute to her “best friend” today, telling the court that the day Olivia passed away was the “worst day of my life.”

She continued, “I felt like my heart had stopped beating.”
Since that night, I’ve felt as though I’m trapped in a nightmare from which I cannot awaken.
Cashman, who has eighteen prior convictions, wept last week when he was found guilty of murder, attempted murder, and intentional wounding.
Paul Russell, a co-defendant who previously pleaded guilty to assisting a criminal, is also being sentenced today.
The atrocity occurred on August 22 of last year during a “premeditated and ruthless attack” that “failed horribly.”
Cashman, armed with a pistol and revolver, “waited” for Nee, 35, to leave the home of a friend where he had been watching the United vs. Liverpool game.
The convicted burglar was shot on the street before entering Olivia’s home covered in blood and injured.
As Olivia “strayed into the line of fire” while “seeking comfort” from her mother, Cashman fired two shots into the residence.
Cheryl described how her daughter’s eyes rolled to the back of her head before she uttered a word that sounded like “mum.”
The mother-of-three said she yelled at her son Ryan to help Olivia up the stairs as she attempted to staunch her bleeding.
Cheryl then realized the child had been struck in the center of the chest as she desperately “gasped for air.”
As Cheryl testified to the police, her heartbreaking evidence moved the courtroom to tears. I heard the shot fired. Because it struck my hand, I realized it.
“When I heard the infant crying, I turned around and saw her sitting at the bottom of the stairs.
“I just huddled over her. I raised her torso. Then I realized that she had been shot in the chest.”
Cheryl cried out, “Please, Liv, stay with me!” as her daughter slipped from her grasp.

In a sobbing interview with police, she stated that a neighbor came in to begin CPR, but she “knew she was dead”
Olivia tragically could not be saved and passed away in the hospital that night.
Olivia ran across the landing and yelled “I’m scared, mummy, I’m scared” as Nee was targeted outside the home, according to her brother Ryan.
He stated that he rushed from his bedroom to discover a Nee lying in the hallway and his mother “wrestling” with the door.
As the door burst open, according to Ryan, a black handgun-wielding arm emerged while up to two more shots rang out.
In a cruel twist, as Olivia’s family pleaded with her to remain alive in the blood-splattered residence, Nee stumbled outside and was picked up by five men in a black car after making a phone call.
Cashman was captured on surveillance footage fleeing the scene as medical personnel fought to save Olivia.
He changed his clothes and informed his ex-lover, who became a crucial witness in the case, that he had “done Joey.”
As he was being arrested, body cam footage captured Cashman saying “you’re stitching me up.”
The brute continued his reprehensible lying in court, where he wept while claiming he was not responsible for the brutal murder.
He told the jury, “I am being accused of killing a child, but I have my children.
“I’m a dad, I’m not a killer, I’m a dad.

“I’m getting blamed for something I haven’t done.”
The “high-level cannabis dealer” claimed he was smoking a joint and counting approximately £10,000 in cash with a friend at the time of the shooting.
Cashman also claimed that the woman who claimed to have heard him confess was attempting to destroy his life because he will not leave his partner for her.
According to him, her boyfriend owed him $25,000 for drugs, so she wanted him “out of the way.”
The court was informed, however, that Cashman was merely attempting to “pull the wool over jurors’ eyes.”
The prosecutor, David McLachlan KC, stated that it was a “case that shocked not only a nearby city but also a nation.”
He stated, “At the time, the news made national front-page headlines, and this is a case that will stay with you forever.”
The tragedy was the third fatal shooting in Liverpool in less than a week, following the recent death of a council employee.
In a case of mistaken identity, 28-year-old Ashley Dale was gunned down in her backyard in Old Swan, just two miles away.
In a separate act of violence, 22-year-old Sam Rimmer was murdered in Toxteth.
Olivia’s death occurred 15 years to the day after the brutal murder of 11-year-old Rhys Jones.
