Details of Gachagua’s Meeting With Activist Morara
In an unexpected development, activist Morara Kebaso met with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday, just days after Gachagua shared his interest in selecting a Gen Z deputy for his party.
Kebaso revealed that the meeting, which took place in Nairobi, was centered on key national concerns, including political reforms, youth unemployment, and human rights issues. He stated that these discussions aimed to address economic exclusion and find ways to support justice for victims of brutality, abduction, and extrajudicial killings.
Kebaso, who gained attention for exposing fraudulent projects, stressed the need to interact with a wide range of leaders to strengthen the youth’s voice in pushing for reforms. He emphasized the importance of collaborating across political, religious, and civic spheres to bring about meaningful change.
Following their meeting, Kebaso took to social media to affirm his dedication to engaging with various leaders to advocate for the youth. He mentioned that working with different figures in politics and civil society could help drive important discussions that impact young people’s lives.
This meeting happened shortly after Kebaso appeared alongside Gachagua at the launch of the People’s Liberation Party (PLP) in Nairobi on Thursday. Other key political figures, including Martha Karua and Kalonzo Musyoka, were also in attendance.

Gachagua has been vocal about incorporating younger leaders into politics. During a recent media interview, he expressed his intention to appoint a Gen Z deputy in his party. He stressed that young people should not be seen as future leaders but as active leaders in the present. Gachagua believes that a mix of his experience and the innovation of Gen Z could create a more balanced leadership approach.
“My party will give Gen Z a significant role. I am the party leader, and my deputy will be from Gen Z so that they are actively involved,” Gachagua stated during the interview.
Kebaso’s recent actions indicate a shift in his political stance. Just three months ago, he publicly distanced himself from major political parties, insisting on pursuing an independent path with his Inject Party. However, his latest collaborations suggest a change in approach. His participation in the PLP launch and his meeting with Gachagua hint at a strategic decision to work with established politicians to further his goals.
